Topic

Our topic for the Autumn term is “Ancient Egypt vs Ancient Greece” which we will be incorporating in most of our subjects. Ancient Egypt vs Ancient Greece will be heavily History based and we will be comparing what life was like for people living during these times.

English

Our English this term will be closely linked to our history topic. We will be writing a rewriting narrative, writing our own acrostic poetry, writing a letter and much more.

Maths

In Maths, we will continue to use the White Rose scheme and will be looking at addition, subtraction,  multiplication and division and more. All the children will still have a focus on practising their times tables alongside weekly sessions of Mathletics. Please encourage them to have a go at home using their own log in details. Geography

In Geography we will be learning all about the importance of trees and ways in which we can protect our trees and environment. We will explore the Amazon rainforest and discover the threats it is under.

Art

In Art we will be exploring sculptures, taking inspiration from the natural world around us, linking our art to our geography and starting off with observational drawings of trees.

PE

In PE we will be starting the year with Outdoor Adventure Activities, focusing on working well within a team to solve problems, respecting others when leading a team whilst having lots of fun and getting fit. We will also be going swimming each Thursday.

Science

In Science we will be learning all about animals including humans, healthy living and changes to our bodies.

We are excited for another fantastic term and hope to earn the title of ‘Class of the Week’ bringing home the ‘Oakgrove Owl’ to our wonderful class.
